Using tn3270 Terminal Emulation for OS X

I realize that phrases like "Terminal Emulation" are a bit frightening for the average computer user, but don't let that intimidate you. All we're doing is using a different way to access Oasis so that you, as a Mac user, can print.

Step one is to download the tn3270 client for Macintosh OS X. The most recent version was released on May 30th of this year, so if you have an older copy of tn3270, you will need to replace it with a new copy. To download it, go here.

You will find yourself on this page. Click this link:

Which will take you to this page, where you will click this link:

This will download a disk image to your desktop. It looks like this:

Double-click it and you will get this:

which should automatically open this window:

Drag the tn3270 X icon to your Applications folder on your hard drive.

Doubleclick the tn3270 icon in your applications folder (or drag it to the Dock and singleclick it). This will open this window:

Fill in the server name. (ie- "oasis.cc.uga.edu"):

Click the "Special" icon. This will open a window of security options below.

Change the port number to "2323" and turn on security by clicking the "SSL" button. Change nothing else. Click "OK."

Click "Open Connection" and the following window will open:

Using the FKeys Menu at the top if the screen, select your key- PF8 for the entry screen, PF1 for help or PF3 to exit.

This will bring you to the Oasis Login Screen. Enter your student ID number and PIN to enter the system.

Once you are in the system, you can use the "Print Screen" command from the File Menu to print your schedule or any award letters you have received.
