Client Services, Operations, and Infrastructure

Mission

Provide the highest quality of computing and networking infrastructure services to all customers, while employing efficient and dependable operational methods to achieving this goal.

Strategic Directions

Provide the highest quality of client services and support

Ensure that the University's data, voice, and cable TV network backbone performs at the needed capacity and service levels to support the University's instructional, research, outreach, and business activities.

Supporting the business and administrative functions and offices of the University through central enterprise server hardware and associated software systems while providing dependable, timely, and accurate information technology services.

Provide campus support for the UGA mainframe and system operations.

Provide effective Security Operational methods to support all University equipment, services, and data.

Partnering with the University's research community to develop and provide a research computing environment that meets current and emerging needs.

Hosting Servers in the Boyd Data Center

  • Support for servers with critical data
  • Physical security
  • 24/7/365 staffing

Security Operations

  • Disaster recovery planning
  • ASSETS (Automated Security Self-Evaluation Tools)
  • DMCA (Digital Millennium Copy Right Act)

System Provisioning and Maintenance

Staffing and Organization

The Client Services, Infrastructure, and Operations division is lead by the associate CIO for the division. The associate CIO reports to the UGA chief information officer and associate provost through the senior associate CIO. [ EITS Organiztional Chart]

The division has four directors, one for each of the following areas:

  • Client Services
  • Security, Network Operations and Infrastructure
  • System Provisioning and Maintenance
  • Research Computing
