Downtime Notice: Upgrade to DB2 Version 8 on IBM Mainframe Sunday, October 28

ATHENS, Ga.— EITS will be implementing the first of four phases for the upgrade of the DB2 database system on the IBM mainframe this Sunday. We are in the process of upgrading to DB2 Version 8 from DB2 Version 7. To accommodate this upgrade phase, all application systems on the mainframe, including OASIS, E-payroll, etc., that require the IMS or DB2 systems will be unavailable.

Exact date and time of the downtime are as follows:

Date: October 28, 2007
Time: 7am - 7pm

DB2 Version 8 offers key improvements, including enhanced scalability, application porting, security, architecture, and continuous availability.
