The training will consist of a series of classes and workshops held at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, in Athens. Six Sigma has emerged over the past several years as an integrated, disciplined approach for improving business processes. The objective of Six Sigma is to deliver world-class performance, reliability, and value to the end customer. The Six Sigma methodology, developed in the late 80s at Motorola, utilizes data and statistical analysis to measure and improve operational performance, practices, processes, and systems. The class will meet every Thursday between 1:00pm and 5:00pm beginning February 1 through April 5. The cost per student is $600.00. Individuals wishing to participate in the training can register through EITS Conference Services. For more information on class registration, please contact EITS Conference Services at eitsconf@uga.edu. Those attending the training will concentrate on developing actual projects— taking processes that currently exist on campus and refining them using the Six Sigma methodology toward process improvement and implementation.
