Monday, December 22, 2008 CONTACT: Jeff Teasley, EITS Director of Systems Provisioning and Maintenance, 706/542-3106, jteasley@uga.edu Water line repair on December 28 affects UGA information technology services ATHENS, Ga.— EITS has been notified by the UGA Physical Plant of a leak in the main chilled water line that provides cooling for the Boyd Data Center (BDC). The timely repair of the leak is critical. Should the leak worsen, there is a risk of overheating in the BDC that could cause system outages and damage to these systems. The repair will take place on the following schedule:
Start: 12 a.m. (midnight), Sunday, December 28 The BDC's backup generator will be deployed during the outage. However, since there will be limited cooling during the repair time, the following services will not be available during the repair window:
