ATHENS, Ga.— Dr. Barbara A. White, CIO and associate provost, presented Striving for Business Alignment: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly! at the Third Annual Leadership and Best Practices Conference at the Sheraton Crystal City in Arlington, VA. The November 14 presentation provided a case study on lessons learned in aligning leadership and key stakeholders around institutional IT priorities.

Presenting in the Quality Leadership Track, White spoke on the interconnected web of strategic leadership, strategic planning, governance, communications, and performance and accountability competencies.

White is a recognized expert in quality leadership, having received the Quality Leadership Executive Visionary Southeast Award for 2007. The Visionary Award recognizes an individual for exemplary initiatives in strategic planning, foresight, thought leadership, and the employment of Quality Assurance to support organizational objectives.

The Leadership Best Practices Conference is designed to assist public and private sector organizations in creating a strategic competitive advantage through identifying and implementing leadership best practices. The conference features world-class organizational leaders who share their proven techniques, tools, principles, and competencies for addressing leadership and management challenges in public and private sector organizations.
