Monday, August 31, 2009 WRITER/CONTACT: Lynn Latimer, 706/425-2920, llatimer@uga.edu FY2010 IT Compact Planning session scheduled for September 21, 2009 ATHENS, Ga.— The Office of the Chief Information Officer and Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) continue their commitment to information technology as a strategic asset of the University supporting the mission and strategic priorities of the University.
As many of you are aware, the Office of the CIO has utilized the collegial and negotiated user-driven approach to strategic planning for information technology since 2005 called Compact Planning. This process is designed to engage the campus in the identification of high-priority information technology needs and requirements; the process is also designed for long-term planning for core information technology infrastructure, systems, services, and applications. In order to provide for the required level of service, and to plan for the long-term needs of the campus community both on-and off-campus, the FY10 Compact Planning session will be September 21, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Georgia Center Masters Hall. The format of the FY10 Compact Planning process will be slightly different this year. Recognizing how busy members of the University community are, the September 21 session will also allow for access through a Webinar (please see the Compact Planning Web site, below, for access instructions). Specific information regarding the FY10 Compact Planning process and featured success stories are available on the Compact Planning Web site at http://eits.uga.edu/compact. In addition, you can learn more about Compact Planning by viewing the Compact Planning video available on the EITS IT-TV Web site located at http://eits.uga.edu/it-tv. If you cannot attend the session on September 21, please take the opportunity to submit your thoughts regarding priority needs and requirements through the online Compact Planning Feedback Form located on the Compact Planning Web site. For additional information, please feel free to contact Lynn Latimer, associate director for IT Planning and Decision Support, at 706-425-2920 or by emailing llatimer@uga.edu.
