Successful launch of Next-Generation MyUGA

ATHENS, Ga.— Several months of hard work by EITS staff have paid off in the successful launch of MyUGA on March 4, 2009.

The Next-Generation MyUGA Team is pictured above (left to right): Mike Cheek, Nate Childers, Mushtaq Pasha, Travis Ray, Sriman Ravi, Kishore Nimmagadda, Krishna Gollapodi, and Rehan Khan.

A survey of users indicates that the new MyUGA exceeds many expectations. The new portal will serve current and future needs regarding access to a diverse set of resources and Web-based services, including email, course information, student services, news, announcements, campus maps, etc.

"This is the initial launch of the next-generation MyUGA," said Rehan Khan, associate CIO for the Application Development and Database Management Division in EITS. "We will work with students, student organizations, and faculty to truly make MyUGA their site. Much work is ahead and student/faculty input is essential."

MyUGA is a Web location which provides access to a diverse set of resources and Web-based services such as electronic mail, course information, student services, news, announcements, campus maps, etc. Many of these services are accessible through MyUGA to everyone with a University of Georgia MyID. MyUGA was designed for students. Faculty and staff also use it to provide services and interact with students. The next-generation MyUGA is a source to "access resources and connect with UGA," taking advantage of the one-stop shop that MyUGA offers.
