Obtaining Voice Mail Service

Voice mail is a service offered by Telephone Services for persons having university telephone service. Telephone Services does not offer voice mail for students with residence hall telephone service.

Capabilities

• Message recording capabilities - More than one caller can leave a voice mail message at the same time.
• Pager Notification - Your pager can notify you when you have new voice mail messages.
• Automatic Switching (Call Coverage) - If you are talking on the phone and get an incoming call, the incoming call will be automatically switched to your voice mailbox.

Remote Access

• You can dial in remotely and obtain messages.
• Dial the message center number - 706-542-4234.
• Enter your five digit telephone number, which is your mailbox number. Example: If your telephone number is 542-6962, enter 26962.
• When you hear your voice mail greeting press the * (asterisk)
• Enter your voice mail passcode
• You are now in your voice mailbox

Costs

The cost for this service?

• $4.50 a month per line (ten one minute messages per month)
• $6.50 a month per line (twenty two minute messages per month)
• $9.00 a month per line (thirty three minute messages per month)

The above numbers mean that your voice mailbox can hold 10, 20, or 30 messages at a time. Any overflow is automatically forwarded to a default line (ie. Department's secretary).
