Ben Myers
Associate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer
Benjamin Myers serves as Associate Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. He leads the university’s cybersecurity program, overseeing policies, security operations, community awareness, and incident response to protect UGA’s information and systems from threats and misuse. In this role, he works closely with stakeholders across campus to balance security needs with the openness and access essential to UGA’s mission. Ben has been with UGA for 10 years and brings 18 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. He also maintains CISSP certification. A fun fact about Ben is that he began working in cybersecurity long before the term “cybersecurity” even came into use.
