IP Address Management for Departments

The University of Georgia has resources for unit and college-level technical professionals to manage their IP addresses.

Each college and unit at the University has appointed a Departmental Network Liaison (DNL) to ensure devices in their department are securely connecting to UGA and departmental network resources, and responding to potential computer security incidents. Some units may have multiple DNLs.

DNLs have access to UGA’s IP address management tool, which is powered by BlueCat. This tool is called Proteus.

For DNLs, EITS has an instructional guide about Proteus, the IP address management tool.

To change a DNL appointment for a college or unit, please contact the UGA Office of Information Security at infosec@uga.edu
