New Online Request Process Press Release
New online request process improves access to administrative systems on July 1, 2009
ATHENS, Ga.
A paper-driven, manual process used to grant access to UGA administrative systems for many years will move to an online process on July 1, 2009.
The online request form is the first step in initiating access to a UGA administrative system
The new online process is provided by Access Services, a unit in the EITS Systems Provisioning and Maintenance Department. Access Services facilitates authorized access to UGA administrative systems for budget, purchasing, personnel, equipment inventory, etc.
Access to these administrative data systems is granted on a need-to-know basis related to an employee's responsibilities within his/her department at the university.
"This new paperless method of requesting access to administrative systems will improve security, provide time and resource savings, as well as resolve document legibility issues," said Shannon Marable, an IT manager in the EITS System Provisioning and Maintenance Department.
Marable also pointed out that the Web site for Access Services is currently transitioning access to administrative systems to the online request process.
