Complete Your MyID profile, reset your own password

Friday, October 20, 2017

Forgot your MyID password? You don’t have to call the EITS Help Desk to reset it.

The MyID Profile forgotten password service allows you to reset your MyID password by verifying your identity with an alternate email, a mobile device or secret questions.

To use the service, you must first complete your MyID profile at myidprofile.uga.edu.

There are two steps to completing your MyID profile:

  • Fill out your secret questions. These are five question and answer pairs, such as “What was your first job?” that can be used to verify your identity before resetting your password.
  • Set up your identification verification options. You can choose to verify your identity with a passcode sent to an alternate email; a passcode sent to your mobile device; or your secret questions.

You can find complete instructions for filling out your MyID Profile on the EITS Help Desk YouTube channel.

Beginning October 26, you must have a completed MyID profile in order to reset your MyID password.

If you do not have a completed MyID profile, you will be prompted to finish your profile before changing your password.

After you change your MyID password, you will be automatically directed to the UGA Alert site to verify your emergency contact information.
