A new application to manage your UGA MyID, including changing your password, is now available.
The webpage to access the new MyID management application is the same: myid.uga.edu. The system features a new look that is easy to view on multiple web browsers on any phone, tablet or computer.
One of the features of the new application is the MyID Profile, a self-service password reset function that asks you to set up your secret security questions and select an option to send a one-time, six-digit passcode to a verified mobile phone via text message or a non-UGAMail address in order to change a forgotten MyID password.
By completing a MyID Profile, if you forget your MyID password, you can reset your MyID password without contacting the EITS Help Desk.
If you forget your MyID password and have not set up your MyID Profile, you must contact the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106. If you know your MyID password and want to change it, you are not required to complete a MyID Profile.
The MyID Profile is a brief, two-step process that asks you to:
The verification option allows a passcode to be sent to your phone via text message or to a non-UGAMail address for changing your MyID password.
An additional feature of the application is the ability to create a UGAMail address (@uga.edu) that is different than your previous default MyID@uga.edu format. If you want to create a UGAMail email address that is different than your MyID@uga.edu format, email will continue to be delivered to both your MyID@uga.edu address, as well as your newly-created “@uga.edu” address. Important points to remember about this new feature are:
Tools for requesting MyIDs for people, departments and student organizations are still available on the myid.uga.edu webpage.
