A major maintenance project will begin on Friday, May 15, starting at 11 p.m. and ending on Saturday, May 16 at 8 a.m. EDT. This will result in a disruption to many UGA IT services.

In order to minimize the impact on the UGA community, this work is being conducted during one of the lowest demand periods for UGA network and web services. In an effort to ensure the continual growth and stability of its network services, UGA must occasionally plan maintenance projects.

The maintenance work will impact people accessing UGA technology services both on and off campus during the maintenance times.

For people on campus during the maintenance window, they may experience disruptions to the PAWS-Secure wireless network, access to the Internet, access to UGAMail and access to websites hosted by UGA.

For people off campus during the maintenance window, they may experience disruptions to accessing UGAMail, websites hosted by UGA, the Virtual Private Network (VPN) and ArchPass.

For both on-campus and off-campus users, this maintenance will result in disruptions to UGA’s Central Authentication System (CAS) to log in to UGA-provided web services, such as Athena, eLearning Commons (eLC), lynda.com and the UGA Employee Self Service website.

In addition, UGA’s time and attendance system for hourly employees, called MyTime (or Kronos), will be unavailable starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, May 15 until 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 16. Time clocks will continue to accept punches, but employees will not be able to access the system.

Campus units with hourly/salaried employees working during this time that do not use time clocks will have to track worked hours outside the Kronos system and enter the time in Kronos when the system is operational again.
