The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 (GLBA) reformed regulation on the financial services industry, including measures to safeguard the privacy of financial information. UGA protects all personal information obtained through financial services that are not otherwise publicly available. The GLBA Security Program Coordinator safeguards and monitors information covered by GLBA, while providing risk assessments of potential security or privacy concerns.
